The Brawn GP F1 team are the new kids on the block for the 2009 Formula One Grand prix season - a phoenix rising from the ashes of the former Honda F1 Racing Team.

When Honda announced they were pulling out of Formula One in November 2008 the future careers of their drivers Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello looked in doubt. But with the team principal Ross Brawn at the helm the development of the car continued and Ross Brawn managed to secure sponsorship deals and sufficient funding to take the team to Melbourne for the opening Grand Prix of the season.

And what a race it proved to be - both drivers planted their cars on the front row of the grid in qualifying and finished in first and second place. A win for Jenson Button.

Valentino Rossi is Mr MotoGP. He started his racing career in 1996, riding in the 125cc category for the Aprilia team.

By the time he started in MotoGP in 2002 he had already won a World Championship in the 125cc, 250cc and 500cc categories. But MotoGP is where he made the real push for world dominance.
